It is common for quarry operators to hire in plant for certain works or to replace items which are temporarily out of action. Where plant is hired in it is likely the terms of any hiring agreement will make the hirer responsible for any loss or damage and continuing hire charges. A hired in plant policy will cover the liability incurred under the terms of the contract.
